Golden Charter
A funeral plan is an easy way to arrange the funeral you want in advance. A plan allows you to specify your wishes and pay for the funeral director’s services included in your plan. As our customers often tell us, that can bring peace of mind to you and your family. A plan from Golden Charter also includes an allowance towards third party costs. These are essential, non-funeral director services such as the cremation or burial fees, plus the minister or officiant’s fee to perform the service.
At Shanti Funeral Services, we work in partnership with Golden Charter to provide you with a simple way to plan ahead. As one of the UK’s largest funeral plan providers*, Golden Charter has helped 900,000 people make funeral provisions** so we’re completely confident in offering their plans to you.
Everyone has different needs when it comes to funeral planning, so we make sure the plans we offer are as flexible as possible. When you get in touch, we’ll be happy to discuss your funeral requirements and tailor a plan to suit you. Rest assured a plan from Golden Charter is available to all UK residents, regardless of age or state of health.

Planning for the Future
More and more people are wishing to plan for a funeral well in advance of that need. With this in mind, Shanti Funeral Services can facilitate pre-paid funeral plans through the Golden Charter Trust funeral planning schemes. With a funeral plan, you choose the funeral you want and pay for it at today’s prices, relieving your family of any worries and uncertainty at what will inevitably be a distressing time. Our plans provide an easy way for you to organise your funeral arrangements in advance, specify your wishes and take care of the costs – at today’s prices. We offer a range of flexible payment options, so your plan could cost less than £5 a week (based on a 50 year old taking out a Base Plan, paying by Low Cost Instalments with a £0 deposit over 30 years).
Taking out a plan for a loved one
If you wish, you can take out a funeral plan for someone else in your family. All you need to do is complete the ‘plan holder’s representative’ section of the application process. If you prefer not to discuss this with your loved one, we guarantee complete confidentiality unless you choose to pay by fixed monthly payments in which case the plan holder will be contacted directly by AXA Wealth Ltd.
The Funeral Plan Guarantee
The price of funerals, like everything else, keeps going up. However with a funeral plan, you can protect yourself against these rising costs. No matter how much the cost of funeral arrangement services may have increased by they time they are required, they will be covered.
Each plan also includes an allowance to cover the third party costs that are not within our control. These include the fees for the crematorium, doctor and officiant. Only if these cost were to increase more than the growth of the plan might there be a balance to pay at the time of the Service.
Funeral Arrangements
Shanti Funeral Services caters for all religious funerals as well as secular and Humanist funeral ceremonies, and we believe that as Funeral Directors we should be open and transparent in relation to the cost of our services. Please see our Package Plans for more information on funeral packages at a range of costs.
